Any ideas..?
Going to need it to happen.

Why won't he let you do it.
Do it yourself. Problem solved.
If it's your PC (as in you bought it / the parts) then just do it.
If it's his, then I don't know.
why don't you do it
There's an option to back up everything when you reformat, you know.
You can tell him he won't lose anything, just don't fuck it up by spam clicking through the install.
He might get in trouble if he does it without permission.
Anyway, I would probably...uh...give up actually. But that's just me.
If he uses it too you could tell him getting rid of some of the crap on it will make it run faster
He's not dumb about computer stuff.
:v
Offer to transfer, securely, all his personal documents and internet favorites. A good way to do this is to transfer them to chrome (from another maybe) and sync them with a google account.
Then just break the OS then force fix it yourself.

Well if he's not dumb about computer stuff then he's dumb about computer stuff. Think about it, he won't reformat.
And i'd really like to play my hat collecting game.
Buy an external hard drive and move everything to it.
Also
If he won't let you format it, then it's probably his computer that he's letting you use. If it was a computer that you bought with your own money then he probably wouldn't care.
