I just recently got a new Studio XPS 16 with Vista 64 bit. I tried to install CA Security Center which was what I used on my old computer. It told me I had to uninstall the one that I currently had on my laptop which was McAfee. So fine I take it off and put CA on. I then restart my laptop and to find that the wifi and bluetooth are not working. On the front side of my laptop it has little lights to tell me that if the bluetooth and wifi are working. They are no longer lit and bluetooth is no longer in the taskbar tray. I tried to access the bluetooth through the control panel but it still can not recognize anything. I'm trying to connect a mouse that came with my laptop. The mouse was working before this dilemma. As for the wifi, it says it's working but it can't connect to the network in my house. My router and modem are working so I don't see the problem with it. Also yes the most recent drivers are installed. I also uninstalled CA because it was extremely slow on vista and reinstalled McAfee. System Restore was also no help. Can someone please help me? It'd make me extremely happy if I can get this to work again.
Are you sure you haven't turned off Wifi by yourself? There should be a little button up near the top of the keyboard to turn it on and off. If I remember correctly it's just a touch thing with the XPS 16
DUDE YOU ARE A FUCKING LIFE SAVER! I didn't even notice that! Thank you so much!!! I feel so stupid right now.
I had a friend do the exact same thing not long ago
