Okay so I'm a big fan of laptops and refuse to have a desktop. I'm always on the go anyhow, so laptops suit me the most. Ofc I'm into gaming, so I'm wondering would this work? What needs to be changed or upgraded? I play gmod, but I do get around to some shooters. Battlefield 3, left for dead, Payday, etc. As for budget, I'd really like to keep under $1200. This current build is at $1040. Also I live in the states. I'm currently looking at a customized HP laptop with the following specs: -Processor: 3rd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M Processor (2.5 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz) -Video Card: NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GT 630M Graphics with 2GB of dedicated video memory -Memory: 12GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) -Hard Drive: 750GB 7200 rpm Hybrid Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection -Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit -Display: 17.3-inch diagonal HD BrightView LED-backlit Display (1600 x 900) It is a dv7t-7000 select edition series. Suggestions? I'm looking to make this purchase today sometime as my current one is becoming more and more of a pile of shit.
NONONONO Get one of these instead: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np6175-clevo-w170er-p-4345.html?wconfigure=yes and configure it how you want. DV series are prone to overheating, and the 650m is a generation (and miles head in performance) from the 630m Edit: Hell you can get a Quad core i7 for slighty more than the price of that HP. (Remember to select windows in the configurator if you can't install it yourself)
What in the...I've never even heard of these. How new is this brand? And yeah I figured the i7 would be a better choice but they get to be pricey. Overall this new pc looks pretty legit. Would it configure wirelessly with my hp printers, mouses, etc? Also I'm looking for something around 17".

Assuming that the hp mice and stuff don't use proprietary wireless technology, I would assume so. The laptop has WIFI and Bluetooth, so all your connectivity should be there. The laptop is made by a company called Clevo, which has been making laptops since 1987. They are a OEM and in the past made normal laptops which were rebranded by other manufactures, but now they have moved to the performance side. The company I linked you to (XoticPC) buys the barebones laptop, and installs the components you specify. I own the 15 inch model of that laptop, however I bought mine through a UK retailer, so I can't vouch for XoticPC (but most of the reviews seem to be good) but going by the quality of the 15inch version, that the laptop is an incredibly high quality piece of kit.
RHX123 is right, HP sucks really bad when it comes to performance laptops (outside of the professionall department). Try sager, or if you want to look at other good brands: Asus, Msi, Sony (in that order). Xoticpc just builds a custom sager and ads alot of $$$ to the price. Also this might be usefull: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html

But I have no idea how the american tax system works so tiapan is probably right.
