Ah. I don't remember his character at all but he woulda been useful when I played... thought for a second that they were still adding new content to the game, I guess not

He was actually pretty useless, the electrified barbed wire did laughably little damage and there was no point in electrifying the walls unless the attackers had thermite on their team.

What moron wouldn't put Thermite on their team? Destroying reinforced stuff is always bound to be immensely useful.

I agree, i usually played thermite myself. But 9/10 times whenever i was defending, the enemy team always focused on operators with shields.
Well yeah, though I'd assume if Ubi have any sense (yeah...) they'll have nerfed shields by release.
