Nostalgia experts do you remember the name of a show with a blue lizard?

My friends and I've have been trying to find the name of a
kids show with a little kid whom looked something like One from Kids next door.

The show involved this kid and his blue lizard pal, that he would feed some strange
thing that would make him grow large, start talking and act something along the lines
of genie from Aladdin.

Names, links or hell a place where you can see the show would be really appreciated.
