It's pretty easy to just ignore everything when you're already behind a layer of DRM and your two latest hits have been for the most part developed while under another publisher's payroll and supervision

Pfft thats right, y'know in todays world, who needs a publisher to advertise, distribute, and manage itty bitty business loose-ends when you develop a game???
Are you even serious? When THQ went out the window, without getting bought over by Deep Silver, they wouldn't have been able to get their games out as intended.

I don't see Deep Silver gloating about the fact the just released two games anywhere anyway, for the most part they seem like a decent company. What's your problem?
Who'd want to pirate dead island riptide anyway

isn't deep silver known for half assing all their titles (Excluding the ones they took from THQ) and only gets money purely by publishing good games for companies that need a publisher in europe.
Glad to see Deep Silver is not one of those "Our shitty game sold poorly? Must be piracy" publishers.
Saints Row 4 was good but I can't shake the feeling that Deep Silver put the crunch on them to get the game out as soon as possible.
I really wish they would use the Dead Island tech and make a really good zombie game.
I mean not that the tech is anything amazing, but they already own it so they wouldn't have to buy/develop anything new.
Good. The only thing DRM does is irritate legit customers. Crackers will find a way to make a crack sooner or later anyway, even Simcity was cracked.
Good. They got the the right mindset but not the right products.

Dead Island was a massive let down of epic proportions, but it was still a fun game despite all of it's problems. Riptide was more or less the same thing with new stuff but cost too much, so who'd pirate it? people who wanted more mindless fun but not for an absurd outlay, as it turns out that was quiet a few people.
