please tell me facepunch that there's a better subwoofer out there for my Audioengine A5's then this thing. 350 for an 8 inch subwoofer? I may not know much about subwoofers, but I know that's bullshit. Anyone have a better alternative? Doesn't neccessarily have to be better, but could be cheaper, or both...
I'm willing to spend around 300 on a subwoofer and I'm willing to go 350 if you guys have good things to say about this 8'' subwoofer
I don't know if this goes in this section but I thought that it seems that this would be the best place to locate this thread
I don't know mow much power you want out of it but this might help:

Cheapish but still reasonable..and quite small not really an amazing brand.

Somewhat over your budget but definitely better then the fame one
But these are quite big and quite powerful and I think a little too powerful for the 2 tops you have and I have no idea if you are looking for something like this but its just a suggestion. You would also need some XRL>RCA cables.

Thank you for the feedback! It really helps...but I'm in America, and I believe these are in Euros...so something along the lines of 350 American Dollars and not Euros. If these are not in Euros then...my bad
I'd go with the one of the usual subwoofer manufacturers: HSU Research, SVS, outlaw audio etc.
Currently HSU has the STF-2 Subwoofer for $349.99, which would be my first choice.
Otherwise, Outlaw has the LFM-1 Compact on sale for $339.
Both are rated for 25 Hz +/- 2dB.

Yeah they are in Euros. I automatically thought about Euros instead of Dollars because there was no $nor€ But that is my bad. Also I'm not that good in home-soundsystems I know more about the bigger stuff. I hope you find a nice one in america!
I bought my Velodyne 12" sub for $500'ish, pretty sure you can get it cheaper on ebay.
Brilliant sub by the way, has awaken my neighbours many times.
Mine's set to a rather low volume and >60Hz as it goes down to ~22Hz or so.

Nice design on that top one, something else then the standard square black box.

I think I'll go with the stf-2 subwoofer. Question though; I've got Audioengine A5's, and i've noticed that it has no AV audiojacks, but plugs. How would I go hooking up this bad boy to my current speakers?
I believe that the A5's have a sub out (left and right red/white RCA jacks). Just run one RCA cable from one of those jacks (it doesn't matter which) to the input on the subwoofer.
I don't know how those speakers handle the bass crossover, so you could also run a 3.5mm to RCA cable from your soundcard to the subwoofer.
