• Uses for old router?

I retired a WRT54G2 running DD-WRT micro for another router, though have no idea what to do with it other than the usual WIFI bridge. Right now I have it sending a message to the people across the street and their fucking poodle that yips and yaps during skype calls, homework and soldering to small traces... Kind of wasteful right now, any way that I can make it useful? Not for sale by the way.
my neighbor's poodle is a bitch too
my neighbor's poodle is a bitch too
It's pretty universal... Why do people get those bastards? If it doesn't get the message through I may setup some VLANs or something for more lines of text. I've heard about some fun things people to do mess with people connecting to open wifi, can I do things like redirecting people from the router itself?
I loved that 3'rd one. Made my day.

Disable dhcp and use it as a switch.
turning a layer 3 device into a layer 2 device?
Yes...? And I think there are layer 3 switches. But either way I know it works.
do you even know what layer two and layer 3 means?
do you even know what layer two and layer 3 means?
Data link layer and network layer.
Data link layer and network layer.
now tell me how much wikipedia you had to go through to find out?

Crank up the wireless transmit power to the highest you can and see if you can make smoke appear.
leave it unsecured and redirect myspace, facebook, youtube, google, etc to meatspin
Anyone know how I would do redirects from websites? I could setup a local web server for this purpose.
turning a layer 3 device into a layer 2 device?
You can disable dhcp and effectively have a switch with a wireless ap. Not hard to figure out.
Router -> Local DNS -> Local proxy?
Thanks, I'll try it.
Donate it to your school. They'll love you for that.
They have WIFI already, sure it's unstable and disconnects in some rooms if the ulgy girl in the front shifts to the left... Though it's still fine :)
