I've got an 8gb Ipod Touch 2g, and I'm thinking of getting a 32 GB 4g. I"ve basically run out of space on mine, and the new one seems a lot faster and better looking, plus it has a camera. But is it really worth the upgrade, or should I wait for next year's refresh?

This man speaks the truth, I upgraded from 3G to 4G and I'm happy, so going from your 2G would be even better.
I would say yes. It is tons more powerful and you won't be crashing every ten minutes.
A lot of apps are taking advantage of the new processing power of the new iDevices and stopping support for old devices, So yes.

The new iPhone is going to come out next year like in June. Which probably means the iPod Touch will be upgraded as well? Your choice I guess.

I just picked up my 4G last night, and it's a shit ton better.

If you're going to get it for the new display and hardware, then definitely. The Retina display makes everything look so crisp and clear, and some of these new games running on Unreal and iD tech are jawdropping (like Infinity Blade).
If you're going to get it for the cameras, then pass. The quality is downright terrible; grainy as hell and pictures turn into a noisy mess when you zoom in.
