hey all, hope you can help because I'm out of ideas. Last night a shut down my computer. I didn't pay attention so I don't know if any updates were installed or something. I woke up this morning, booted it up, put my headphones on, and when I went to play a Youtube video, the sound sounded like something from an old game console. Everything was grainy, distorted, and broken. I checked that my headphones were plugged in properly and that my audio device in Windows was set up right at 48khz and everything checked out. I grabbed a cheapo set of headphones I had laying around and plugged them in and the same thing happened. This made me think it was the audio output device that my headphones were connected to. I've had a Logitech G110 keyboard for the better part of a year now, and I've only recently starting using the built-in DAC with my Panasonic RP-HTF600s and it's always sounded fantastic. Before I shut everything down last night it was all working just fine; now it sounds terrible, and I'm not sure what could have happened. I'm hoping it's not the controller on the keyboard, as I really like the convenience of having everything plugged in right there (my wireless mouse connector is in the USB port). I'm just at a loss for ideas as to what could be going on. Any suggestions? has this happened to anyone else? I'm running Windows 7 x64 on an AMD quad-core CPU. I have a GTX460 from MSI and 16 gb of RAM from G-Skill. The motherboard is some ASUS board. I have not recently installed any updates.
Did you say you're using the plug on the keyboard for audio? If so do you get the same result with the motherboard plug You might have to download and fuck about with the software suite for the G110, I remember my G15 had one
I feel really dumb now. On a hunch I unplugged the keyboard and plugged it back in and everything works fine now. I thought I had tried that already but I guess not. I am already running the "software" for the keyboard (if you can call it that). All it does is manage the billion function keys that I'll never use. Anyways, thank you for trying to help with this. I appreciate that, even though this was a simple problem with a stupidly simple fix, there are people on here that are willing to lend a hand. Many thanks.
