Whats the performance like on this, if anyone knows? For a budget PC, will this run atleast semi-decent on games that require 2 cores (Like prototype), and possibly some game footage recording? Have yet to hear much on this, and may grab it with a new mobo to replace my current crappy parts.
Here's a review on it, performs pretty well, if I remember right is just doesn't have L3 cache..
My brother bought this CPU two weeks ago, I was watching him playing Dead Space maxed out Athlon II X4 620 -I'm not sure what ram he has right now, so I'm guessing 2gb- my old HD2600 xt http://www.guru3d.com/article/amd-athlon-ii-x4-620-review-test/14 It's not on par with the Phenom II's but what I seen, it's not crap
it is good if you don't like to wait around for normal windows apps and don't to insane gaming
Looks like it performs fine for gaming according to Crap's link. Not on par with the Phenom's sure, but for 100 bucks, you can't beat that performance.
Would you guys consider it better than a Athlon X2 6000+?
It's good. I just bought it in a combo with an Asus mobo from frys for 100$ Not as good as my 805, But good enough.
I'm considering getting this CPU also. Should handle games like The Orange Box and L4D2 perfectly fine I should think. Right now I'm running on a Single-core, so I couldn't get much worse.
Get a Phenom II X2 or X3 instead.
