Should I get swineflu on purpose now, so that later I will be immune? - General

I just got a phone call from a friend of mine whom I hadn't spoken to for a few days. Turns out he had a case of swine flu, he went to the doctor and got a blood test and it was confirmed. They offered him some tammy flu but he reckons it makes you sleep walk and want to jump off buildings. from the sound of things he is on the last stages of it now and is getting better. I have been thinking I should go take on the challenge, and then when swine flu becomes a super bug, I will have an immunity? Only problem is if my bong riddled lungs can stand up to the test.

But what if it kills you?

Flu vaccines contain minute amounts of the viral bacteria to protect you from catching it in the first place. This is done so that your immune system can recognize the outbreak and illiminate it faster than before when it wouldn't have. Everyone who does get infected has the same outcome anyway, they have a much higher success rate of fighting the virus than a man who hasn't had flu before. But Influenza flu is notorious for it's ability to replicate and evolve in a way that your immune system won't be able to recognize it anymore so you become just as vunerable as the guy who's sitting next to you.

If you're planning on immunizing yourself in case it mutates to become more deadly, you're out of luck. If the virus mutates, most likely you'll no longer be immune.
