That's actually kind of cool how they're releasing the multiplayer only. And only $15 which is suprising.

You are not able to play in Custom Games, Zombies, or Campaign with the Starter Pack." Why is this offer only available for a limited time?
They listened to me sort of!
Why don't they release a Call of Duty: Global offensive at a $15 price-point and focus on competitive play. I'd certainly buy it, $60 CoD games sell like shit on steam

Why is this offer only available for a limited time?
I think they're just trying to boost their player count with a quick discount but tbh i wish this became a new actual practice.
I think they're just trying to boost their player count with a quick discount but tbh i wish this became a new actual practice.
This seems really counterintuitive to me, I'd probably make this deal permanent in order to make some actual profit from it, and I'd just turn it into a long term thing, seeing as it would probably take a while before the playerbase itself would grow a little bit.
does ranked mean match making servers in general or only the competitive ladder? Like in black ops 2 there was ranked that nobody played, everyone just played on the regular playlists. also does this game still run like turds on pc? I have a gtx 960 and when i played the beta it ran terribly.
What is the level cap in the Call of Duty: Black Ops III Multiplayer Starter Pack? The maximum level you can reach in the Starter Pack is level 55. Once you attain level 55, you will no longer gain XP or Unlock Tokens. You will not be able to Prestige in the Starter Pack. However, if you’re maxed out at level 55, you’ll unlock the option to Prestige if you upgrade to the full game.
do these work the same way as they do in black ops 2? if so that kinda kills it for me
do these work the same way as they do in black ops 2? if so that kinda kills it for me
unfortunately yes. its an awful system.
Pretty cool actually, there isn't much you're missing out on if all you're interested in is the multiplayer. The biggest downside though is that all of your unlocks are permanent (and you won't be able to unlock everything) since there's no prestige or reset option.
I always thought they should sell them separately. Like say 40$ for campaign and 15$ for mp. Paying 60$ and never touching mp (because I'm not that interested) is a bit too much for me.
Sounds like it's only part of the multiplayer though. No custom games, no mods, no prestige, no server browser, level cap of 55.
It was so close to being a good idea, then they had to fuck it up. Of course, if they did release CoD SP and MP separately I think the SP version wouldn't sell very well.
