Because everything that is blocky or pixelated is Minecraft.
Anyway, I really like the art style. It doesn't fall under Minecraft's trap of everything being completely blocky and unstylized, looks promising.

I think Cube World still falls under restrictions of blocks, it's just the blocks are a lot smaller. If a big mob smashes through the ground, the ground will break up in block scatters. Really cool looking.

Pretty sure Mojang actually own Cube World too. Well Notch certainly pays this guy to develop it full time.

Yeah he changed his mind, so no he doesn't work for Mojang.
wasn't sure at announcement but this looks pretty good, may get it when it comes out
