I don't actually know why people make it out as a bad thing though. Unless you ever plan on eating there then they're good pubs! They're big, cheap and employ fit barmaids!

The food is pretty grim. I would probably only buy a dessert from there. Ember Inns on the other hand does great food.

Yates, spoons and most other pubs like that are only a starting off place. Somewhere that you fill up on cheap(ish) booze before hitting the clubs in a worse for wear state and act sober enough to get in! XD
