Wait, they're going to phase out full support for flash. But leave it on by default on 10 sites. But you still have the option to enable it?
I have no idea why Youtube still uses Flash when it's HTML5 player has been a thing for a long while now.

I'd have moved back to Firefox a year ago because of bad developer decisions if it wasn't because I couldn't find a GOOD FF equivalent to Tab Dupectomy. I tend to have a forest of tabs open....

Why does google seem to have an agenda against online browser games? First unity, now flash?
https://github.com/mos3abof/firefox-power-close A year ago they implemented a method of closing tabs on the current domain, not just via input :tried:
See, this is where Tab Dupectomy is simple yet incredibly powerful, because it just requires some initial configuring, and then you only have to click it to make it close excessive tabs. No typing at all, just a mouseclick, and it even shows the number of 'extra' tabs open according to the parameters it's configured for. So congrats, you've managed to give me a reason to say :tried:
Because these games are deprecated, Flash only brings headache nowadays and HTML5 games are more efficient both using JS+Canvas or WebGL compared to flash
I was unaware html5 games were a thing.
Because these games are deprecated, Flash only brings headache nowadays and HTML5 games are more efficient both using JS+Canvas or WebGL compared to flash
There's a whole lotta history that's getting nuked with the complete removal of flash. Also look at how retro gaming is becoming a real thing. It'll end up being like deciphering ancient texts at this rate. I do agree with that Flash should be completely verboten for non-complex uses that's piss easy to re-create in HTML5 or for new applications in general. Stop using it for adverts or site navigation.
Why does google seem to have an agenda against online browser games? First unity, now flash?
The plugin framework that unity used was replaced due to security concerns, but thats not a big deal as unity can output to HTML5 for webpages. Flash is being removed because flash is absolute garbage, both memory usage wise and security wise. I would trust a screen door on a submarine more then flash, at least with the screen door I know where the water is going to come in from
mymaths.co.uk is gonna break
Man, I get that Flash has its flaws and is now technically outdated, but seeing the thing that powered all of my middle-school browser games go the way of the buffalo is such a bummer
What's he main difference between html5 and flash? I'm not super into these things right now
Flash has always been a better video player for me, Chrome/Firefoxes HTML5 video players are pretty shit.
I'm about ready to switch back to Firefox because this is bullshit. First Google disables NAPI plugins, and now they wanna cripple my browsing experience even further.
Thank god, the push to move off flash has to come from somewhere. Adobe themselves trying to get everyone off it apparently wasn't enough.
I'm about ready to switch back to Firefox because this is bullshit. First Google disables NAPI plugins, and now they wanna cripple my browsing experience even further.
Firefox already does something similar to this. It'll automatically block Flash on most pages and ask you if you want to allow it or not. Though considering this is Google we're talking about and the fact they seem to loathe letting people have any actual control over things compared to Firefox their implementation is likely to be an enormous pain in the ass to get around in comparison.
i haven't encountered flash on youtube for like a year now at least
YouTube automatically uses HTML5 player if your browser supports it unless you're watching paid content, then it's always Flash Twitch is another story. Fuck you Twitch Also what happened to BBC's title?
I'm about ready to switch back to Firefox because this is bullshit. Firefox is going to be using a javascript implementation of Flash in the future.
Does this mean the end of http://zombo.com/ ? [editline]18th May 2016[/editline] https://html5zombo.com/ Zombo.com will live.
