I wonder how much hits these Nvidia partner posts get compared to regular PCGN articles receive
It's pretty amazing now how we are seeing singular cards running 4k really well.

It's really making me want to finally go out and buy a 4K TV and new PC. Just wish i had the money.

Are there 60 hz 4k monitors or tvs?
and what about their input lag?
Following Snake – voiced by 24 star Kiefer Sutherland
Reading this still hurts me.

David Hayter was never good

You can get 4k 60hz monitors for as low as $350 nowadays. Good input lag too.

I was able to play many games in 4k on a GTX 660 by just disabling post processing effects like Ambient Occlusion and FXAA, the reason being that they often scale with resolution.
Most "4K" benchmarks suck because they leave useless stuff like MSAA on that eats up a lot of resources for little benefit in deferred rendering (almost every modern engine) games.
Really it just depends if the game is more CPU or GPU reliant though.
David Hayter was never good
Hayter did his job as well, if not better than Sutherland. Presumably the reason Konami wanted him is that Sutherland's name is big outside of gaming and they wanted that on the box, not entirely sure why though seeing as MGS is huge already.

It's funny because when GZ came out FP assumed it was Kojima Ruse Cruise and Hayter would secretly be voicing Snake in TPPs retail release.
Oh how I wish that were true.
I love Hayter as Snake but for me he will always be Solid Snake, not Big Boss. Like RichyZ said, can't really imagine David Hayter's Snake to not sound off when talking about very mature topics. Or rather I think it's because Sutherland sounds more natural as a grimdark leader (Big Boss) imo, while David Hayter fits better as a lone wolf infiltrator (Solid Snake and also Naked Snake before he became Big Boss). I thought his final speech in Peace Walker to his men seemed very off, it just didn't seem like Hayter was at home playing Big Boss.
Since Big Boss doesn't really talk in MGS5 (at least not as much as Snake did in past games), it shouldn't be too big of a problem, but I like the change. I'm still hoping for David Hayter to somehow make an appearance, maybe post-credit where he, years later, talks to Big Boss about infiltrating Zanzibar Land or something :v: I think that'd be the perfect ending – hell, maybe that's that 'true' ending everyone's talking about. But I just like the idea of the four Snakes all having their own voice actor.
If they later somehow made a game with Solid Snake again (fuck you Konami), but if they did, then they should really go back to David Hayter, as that is genuinely what he is irreplaceble as.
Dammit, now I'm even more hyped, hope I don't end up disappointing myself with that.
i want to believe its because the japanese audience would prefer the english dub w/ japanese subs
that sounds kinda absurd but the series seems way more fitting to be in english
It has nothing to do with it, Snake has always been voiced by Akio Otsuka, who is fucking huge. The man does the dubbings for Nicolas Cage, Steven Seagal, Denzel Washington, and Samuel L. Jackson. He is pretty much the king of Japanese Voice acting, my ex even has a pet snake named after him for Christ sakes.
I'm pretty sure it's the fact that Hayter was just getting to old to fill the role. Hayter himself admits his voice has changed and as he's gotten older it's become much harder to do Snakes voice. You can even tell when you compare his voice in MGS for the PSone and Peace Walker.

It's a shame, I love Hayters Iconic voice, but all good things come to an end.

New VA for a new character seems fine to me

Did you not play MGS1?
New VA for a new character seems fine to me
He's not a new character though, he first got his voice in 2004. Granted, that was just to have "Snake" in the main role but Kiefer Sutherland is too high pitched and slurs a lot. Someone more like Richard Doyle should have got the role really.
Too high pitched?
Too fucking high pitched?
Sure, he slurs, but too high pitched though?
Yes.
Compared to Hayter? Seriously?
Yes. David Hayter just does an exaggerated rumble nowadays, but in MGS1 he sounded like a 33 year old smoker who sometimes growled a bit. He was great.
Kiefer Sutherland sounds like a drunk Bugs Bunny.
i dont get the slur thing, he sounds fine to me?
Sometimes it shows more than others, I know a lot of people aren't a fan of his famous first line "She shurvithe".

Spoilers: [SP]venom is not bigboss[/SP]

I've kept out of the way of spoilers for the past several days but [sp]I still think that's the stupidest twist seeing as every character interaction and action he makes goes down the drain. Supposing it was true, who voices Big Boss? Is Big Boss Ishmael, also voiced by Chief Kief?[/sp] Last I heard before going dark on the issue was a lot of "evidence" for either side but it's probably best to wait until post-release to make final judgements really.

According Hayter himself, he can still do his MGS1 voice, the reason for his gruff pirate voice in PW is because the voice director wanted him to do one.

He sounds like he just sucked 50 dicks in a row before reading his fucking lines.

spoilers have already been verified
[sp]you play as the medic from gz who has been surgically changed to look like bigboss while the real bb goes into hiding (people want to kill him), for example quiet is sent to killing him in the beginning. this also works with the mgs storyline all the way back to mg1. it's called phantom pain since you are essentially the phantom of bigboss. in mg1 there's news that bb sends people to kill the phantom in outer heaven so it's all connected and very real[/sp]
