I added name tags back this week. So now you can see who people are. We did want to do something a bit more special in this area. We wanted it so when you saw a person you had to click on them and name them. Then whenever you see that person again they’d have that nametag. This would mean that you could name your friends, or a sleeping guy who you stole from. But if someone was sneaking around you they wouldn’t have a nametag.
I love this idea.
The fantastic generated terrain, the planned biomes and their weather effects, and the attention to technical detail all together... I wonder if this game will be just as different to this dev version as the dev is to legacy, in a year from now.
You should be able to make graves for player bodies. Imagine decorating the yard of your house with the gravestones of everyone that tried to raid you, and being able to decide the epitaph.

Here lies Rustycunt. Talked shit, got hit.
For the name tag, why not make it fade after a certain distance?

Buying Rust right now if they promise this feature.

But that already happens now.
One thing that I'd love to see is that different biomes have different colored metal/wood. So if you have a guy who builds a Thompson out in the desert biome, it'll have a wood-stock made from cacti bones. Might just be me, but it would add a layer of depth to the system, and would allow you to play a little bit of detective work to figure out where a group of raiders came from.

And would add a cool visual factor. Same items from different regions looking better or worse which could possibly create a market of sorts.
