• Do modern HP computers still use BTX motherboards?

Seeing as my friend's prebuilt has a fried motherboard and he's asking me to replace it, that arose me to ask if they still use BTX motherboards. The layout of the motherboard (pic below for reference) looks like a regular u-ATX board to me. Are the screw alignment holes in different positions, are certain parts of the board moved just enough to prevent you from replacing it or what?
My brothers does. What model is it?
I just did a replacement of a motherboard in an HP like two weeks ago the HP was like an 04 computer and the case fitted a standard Micro-ATX motherboard perfectly. and from what i can see in this picture you should be able to just replace that mobo with a micro-atx board no problems
I'm pretty sure most modern HP computers don't use BTX motherboards any more. You should be okay for replacing the motherboard with another Micro-ATX board like dfrick said.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help. You can buy fried ones on ebay.
I don't need a fried one. I need a working one.
I don't need a fried one. I need a working one.
The only way you're gonna get a working BTX motherboard would be going into walmart and stealing the motherboard out of one of their computers.
looks like inverted-atx in the picture in OP
looks like inverted-atx in the picture in OP
Yeah, it's inverted, but that won't affect the board form factor.
Yeah, it's inverted, but that won't affect the board form factor.
I know, inverted ATX is just ATX upside down
except that it doesn't look big enough to be an ATX board
except that it doesn't look big enough to be an ATX board
yeah it's micro atx but it's called inverted ATX. it's the case style, not the motherboard style
