If DRM is integrated into HTML5 I'll lose all respect I had for the W3C.
Mmmm, proprietary decoder plugins! Just what HTML5 needs!
Now I'm not as excited for Netflix considering to HTML5, it would still be better than Silverlight though.
When I read the title I thought they were gonna talk about Firefox/Chrome/IE-exclusive webapps that are locked from other browsers for no good reason.
Ugh, will we ever be rid of DRM cancer?
So we're basically switching from one proprietary plugin to another over which we'll have even less control.
The W3C sets up standards as recommendations for browser developers. If a company didn't want to conform to a standard that requires DRM in their browser, couldn't they opt to not add it?
