Despite my last thread where there was misleading info reported by Redmond Pie about VirtualPC supporting aero, VMWare actually does. It's not yet avail. to the public however if you purchased VMWare or something like that you can get it now.

I'll get it. Virtual PC tends to have problems, anyway.

Yeah, plus I can't use VBox 3 or higher. Host crashes then on reboot it gives me a hard disk corrupt error. Happened twice on two fresh installs.
I love VMWare workstation.
I'm pretty upset that VirtualBox still doesn't support Aero yet... how pathetic.

I had Compiz running on a Linux guest in Virtualbox a while back.

Nice to know that Linux can use the hardware accelleration, but Aero in Windows is being neglected. Thanks Sun Microsystems... VirtualBox was better off with out them in my opinion.

Has to do with the fact that VBox uses Wine for Direct3D. Not sure what VMware uses.
Some 3D games do work in Windows with VBox though. I haven't tried it though.
It's not like having Aero is all that important anyway.

True, but the VM (ALL VMs) should be able to tap into your hardware's GPU power and render from it, instead of emulating bullshit with other bullshit.
