• Slight hissing/interference on my sub-woofer

For some reason, I've been getting looping sounds and other problems since playing one particular game; FIFA 12. I'd get looping sounds after exiting and the only way to prevent this would be to minimise, right click game and close it. However, since today i've had a minor sub-woofer issue where turning the volume up about half way or just under, i'd be getting a lightish hissing and a calm rumble (this without any sound being played out). I can feel the bottom of it slightly rumbling too and I originally thought that it could be because it's next to the PC tower with the magnet in it etc, possible interference. Also, I am getting a very light hiss in my speakers which I'm assuming that if I solve the something that is causing this, it may stop the rumbling too. So I moved it to just under my bed, a good metre away and re-routed all of the cables. However, I still get this same problem and i'm not sure what I should be doing? (Logitech x-540 5.1 System and Xonar DX Sound Card)
I'm not sure how you could shield it any further to block some more of the static out. On my setup if I turn my mixers output volume down, and my amp up it clears up significantly.

EDIT: I'm also getting no hissing when I plug in my earphones into the control device that attaches to my sub-woofer, so it's definitely not a sound card issue.
Get a few ferrite cores and put them on the audio out, and cable to subwoofer, etc.

I now have a feeling it could be the sound card as when my earphones are in without sound, I turn the volume dial to the max and hear a slight hiss now too. It seems this problem has started when I changed from the "Xonar DX Modified drivers" back to the latest ones by ASUS.
possibly, but unlikely, it sounds like an analogue.problem. [editline]17th October 2011[/editline] en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrite_bead get some if the drivers dont sort it.
Definitely sounds like an analog issue. Probably seems worse with the drivers.
PROBLEM SOLVED! I found out the "Microphone" part of my sound card had "Microphone boost" checked when I was configuring my mic last night. Unchecking this removed all hiss and vibration from my sub/speakers. I guess the only feint vibration that's felt from the sub now is the vibration of the PC tower sat on the floor.
