I guess this.

it's honestly not before 2000's jobs became succesful so it took over 20 years to finally develop something people really liked.
Steve Jobs died too young. 56 is too young for a modern era human. People nowadays could live up to 80. If he had no cancer, he would be able to live past 50. You are only considered elderly once you reach 60.

I always took "elderly" to mean 75+ here...
Feel sorry for Jobs, yeah, I hate the products, but it makes you feel for him when you see what he did for modern times.
Not sure if co-incident, but when I woke up on the day he died, my iPod had completely broke in the night and was unable to be repaired without a replacement
Even though I didn't like the iMac, Jobs was probably the most inspiring person to ever roam in the 20th and 21 centuries.
We will miss you
I don't get all the sudden love for Jobs. Sure, he made some nice phones, computers and music players, but the guy never did anything that didn't benefit himself. I don't care anymore about his death than the thousands of other cancer victims that died the on same day.

I think you forgot the part where he was one of the people that actually got computers in the market.
We wouldn't be doing even half of anything that we do everyday and take for granted if it wasn't for Steve Jobs (together with Bill Gates, important collab and competition between Bill and Steve). (sure there were other competitors like Atari and IBM, but they just couldn't do it and I doubt we would be were we are with those as the only people bringing forth computers.
Computers? Music players? Smart Phones? Tablets?
Fuck all of that, it wouldn't of been here if it wasn't for that guy. And for that I am thankful for his existene and contribution to Apple and influence on Microsoft.
I never cared for Steve Jobs, but now that he's gone it makes me think about who he really was and what he had to do with my life. And he had EVERYTHING to do with my life.

yeah he probably would have lived if he didn't die

Without Steve Jobs:
We (probably) wouldn't have graphical desktop interfaces
We wouldn't have Pixar or any of its iconic movies like Toy Story.
The smartphone market would (probably) have still been limited to the business department.
Portable music would still be snoozing like a baby.
Like dgg said, it wasn't until he died that I realized just how much he affected our daily lives.

GUIs and MP3 players would have developed without him eventually but Pixar may not have and smartphones definitely wouldn't be what they are today

And although GUIs and MP3 players would exist, MP3 players in particular would be very different
