• Phenom II 955 BE Heatsink Won't Latch

Alright, first build here, and I'm getting frustrated as hell trying to work this thing on. My heatsink, which is the stock one that came with the CPU, won't latch onto both retention clips on this ASUS 790GX mobo. I can get one latched, but the other one doesn't seem to want to fall down enough to get under the retention clip. Any advice on getting it under there, and how much pressure can I be putting on it?

Look up on youtube if your not sure [editline]08:37PM[/editline] Its been a while since I've used stock AMD heat sinks so Im not sure if this is too old : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9StBjnOXaPA
you have to push hard on it. i had to with my AMD Phenom II Tri-core heatsink.
Thanks for the advice guys, but I got it. I was doing the proverbial no-no and trying to install the CPU with the mobo in the case. Popped it out and put it on a flat surface and it popped in easy.
