Okay, how do I begin?
I wanted to fuck around with Parallels in Mac OS X with a Windows XP disk. Long beforehand I had a long-standing copy of Windows Vista that I had boot-camped, with a ton of shit on it.
The problem was, I DIDN'T REALIZE IT WAS FORMATING MY BOOT CAMPED PARTITION, until I saw "formatting" on the blue XP install screen in the Parallels window.
I restarted immediately into Vista. The familiar Vista loading screen came up, and then a flash of a BSOD. The computer immediately restarted.
I went into Mac OS X, and checked the Disk Utility. The Drive was unmounted, but there with it's original name. And that format was quick too. Couldn't have been a full format. Must've changed the file system. Somehow.
I tried using TestDisk, and it detected Frisco (what I named the Windows partition). I told it to list for my files once it found the cylinders. Once I hit "p" to list, it froze.
What now? Please tell me my HDD is recoverable, FP.
Are the files recoverable? I'd say there is a chance but likely not. Is the hard drive recoverable? Completely yes. I may be a bit tired or something, but I'm having a hard time understanding you.
yeah, what i meant is my files

It was a soft format. The files are probably there.
I managed to fix it using a program called Boomerang. God, what a live-saver.
