As the title says. I just can't seem to find a word for it.

No, I don't think so, that's just a word for better. Thank you though, it's a good word to remember.

I think you guys are misunderstanding this. He's trying to figure out a word for when you use someone for your own advantage. And the word he's looking for is describing the person you're using.

For someone you'd shift work to or take advantage of, you'd want a Patsy. For someone you'd want to shift blame to, you'd want a Scapegoat or Fall Guy. For someone you'd want around to make yourself seem artificially better than normal via comparison you'd want a D.U.F. (Designated Ugly Friend) for physical standings, a Stooge for mental standings, or a Greater Evil (in order to become the Lesser Evil) for moral standings.
