Does anyone know if this game is any good?
is this any good?
Does anyone know if this game is any good?
this always happens to me
Whoa, this looks pretty cool. I'm digging the seamless space-to-planet-surface transitions. Also, there seems to be a demo available on the website. So that's probably worth a look. [editline]16th January 2012[/editline] And here's a review that seems to indicate it's pretty great. Definitely going to check this out more closely.

In fact, the demo might just be the full game that needs some type of key to unlock everything.
Game looks really amazing
Looks kinda like X3 without the bells and whistles but with some planetary stuff included. Everyone should buy it so they can make a sequel with the bells and whistles.
Love the controlling and everything, you can build stations and stuff too. I put a server up at 24.113.125.28 with 15 max people.
Whoa, he got it on Steam! This is one series I've been umm-ing and uhhh-ing about buying since seemingly forever. I think I'll get it now at last, since it's discounted and I'd probably get it in the next month or two anyway.
i've been waiting for a replacement for Freelancer forever, so excited
I miss Freelancer... Also, yes, this looks awesome.
I have owned this game since a little while after it came out. I keep forgetting this fact. As such I still haven't actually played it. Probably should do that at some point.
Wow, about damn time they put these games on STEAM. It's a pretty awesome game, but you pretty much need a joystick if you want to dogfight. It's extremely button intensive and fast paced. I have Evochron Renegade, Evochron Legends, and Evochron Mercenary. [editline]16th January 2012[/editline] There's a demo available here, by the way. http://www.starwraith.com/evochronmercenary/downloads.htm No idea why the demo isn't on STEAM.
I've played it before. It's a bit like the X3 games, but with less of the complicated mechanics, and more of the Freelancer mechanics I wish they'd make a game that combined X3's amazing teeming-with-life universe, with traders actually trading and looking for best prices, and not going from A to B in a scripted fashion, it's station building, it's Micromanagement, with the simplicity, and multiplayer functionality of freelancer With that said, Evochron does have Multiplayer
I bought the game, its not that bad.. But graphic wise its worse than the 2003 game freelancer.. Will they update the graphics?
FUCK, HE FINALLY GOT IT ON STEAM. Maybe this means adequate multiplayer for this masterpiece.
I bought the game, its not that bad.. But graphic wise its worse than the 2003 game freelancer.. Will they update the graphics?
... You haven't played Freelancer that recently have you?
... You haven't played Freelancer that recently have you?
I have.. Have you seen the explosions in Evochron ? [editline]17th January 2012[/editline] maybe i will need to give it more time.. But i read something about a expension for Evochron?
I have.. Have you seen the explosions in Evochron ?
I don't think you have. The ships look more detailed both inside and out, the environments look more detailed, and the effects look more detailed.
the inside looks cool yeah..
I know what I'm playing in five minutes. I'll probably buy it once I have an hour with it, then hopefully join some of you guys if you are still playing.
Dammit, this is a reason to get the game, but I own Evochron Legends and didn't see much reason to get this one over just playing that. Also I have X3 just sitting there for whenever I have a space sim urge... Someone who's played both will have to convince me it's worth it!
wow
Selling more than MW3? Oh yes! Love this game. Get this now.
I'd rather wait for Galaxy on Fire 2, for Windows of course.
Ah it seems a feature-packed expansion is coming for Mercenary soon - that may just be all I need to convince me to get it! http://www.starwraith.com/evochronmercenary/development.htm (Now, get it now or wait for the expansion... hmm)
Oh God yes. Hope the multiplayer is still populated.
Ah, I remember buying this when it first was shown on Facepunch, I hope I'll get a Steam key. Also, are there more than 5 planets now?
Bought it, playing it on a private server with a friend, trying to get my mind around how everything works. If people really want to play this game, and Shadaez can't keep his server up for whatever reasons, I might try hosting a "24/7" one. Looks promising.
The usual Remula One "main server" is currently down due to the owner having health issues (hope he gets well soon). For now most of the existing players are playing on the United Star Systems server. I would recommend joining that server since it'll be easier to get help there. There's also a player-made guide that's also pretty helpful: http://evochron.junholt.se/files/A_Book_of_Hints_and_Tips_Ver01.pdf
