So does this do anything other than make the game slightly prettier and brake all mods?
So does this do anything other than make the game slightly prettier and brake all mods?
I'm hoping it'll be more stable like Fallout 4 at least and not crash so often.
So does this do anything other than make the game slightly prettier and brake all mods?
64 bit executable, also most mods that don't require the script extender should still work, especially ones that just add new items and stuff.

Isn't it counting as a new game in steam? So the original will still work.
Luckily, yes, it's a new game.
how much will it cost if you just buy the special edition though
So does this do anything other than make the game slightly prettier and brake all mods?
Graphical improvements that simply were not possible or performance intensive on the original engine, runs 64bit and thus will take advantage of more system memory, ensuring better performance and stability.
It also if I recall correctly is on the Fallout 4 version of the engine, so I highly suspect we may be able to produce new animations more freely and easily just like Fallout 4.
All in all, its a free upgrade for those who already own the game and all its DLC, besides mods having to be converted over, there is no reason I can see for me to stay on the original game anymore.

It's nice I suppose, wouldn't ever consider paying for it though
welp, i dont have the dlc and wont be able to afford it before this is released either
Got the DLC and ready for a Special Edition baby. Let's go, free remastered games are neat!
how much will it cost if you just buy the special edition though
$60
I'd say now is probably the best time to go hunting for cheap keys or sales on sites, because otherwise if you feel like getting SE you're gonna be wasting some money either way.
I was gonna buy the DLC at some point anyway so I decided to just buy it during the Summer Sale because I'd get the free upgrade anyway.
60? are you kidding me beth you greedy cunts
Remasters usually are priced as a full priced game when new. Besides, everyone and their mother already owns Skyrim and the DLC so I think them giving it away for free to practically everyone is pretty prosumer.
60? are you kidding me beth you greedy cunts
To be fair, it's also going to include all of the DLC when it's released, so you're basically paying $60 for the base game and all 3 paid DLCs. If you were to buy Skyrim and its DLC right now with its current prices (not including the 39% discount on the bundle), the final price would be about $64.96 (tax not included). $60 for the full game and its DLC is actually a rather fair price, though it does still seem like a bit much for what't basically just an upgraded re-release.
You have to include the bundle discount, its not a temporary deal.
Consoles don't have that discount.
On both the 360 and PS3 it's $45 for just the DLC, then on PS3 you can't buy the game itself and on the 360 it's $30.
The bundle discount only applies to PC, which is also the platform that's getting it for free if you own both the game and all its dlc.
They really ought to be handing out a free copy to people who had to deal with their shitty ps3 port.
60? are you kidding me beth you greedy cunts
its showing up as $40 base price on greenmangaming, with some savings if you're logged in
They really ought to be handing out a free copy to people who had to deal with their shitty ps3 port.
People who got it on PS3 made the choice to get it on a console that wasn't really that good to develop games for, like seriously, you ask any dev or anyone who works for any developer and they'll tell you the PS3 was horrible to work with.
PS3 is the complete polar opposite of the PS4 for ease of use in development.

Regardless of how shitty the PS3 was to work with that shouldn't mean your games should be allowed to be broken as hell.
So does this do anything other than make the game slightly prettier and brake all mods?
x64 support (huge deal for modding)
New engine (Same as FO4 I believe)
DX11
It has more in common with something like skyblivion then it does an HD mod
here's to hoping that exceeding 60fps won't break the game's intro this time
This better improve performance for mods, as I caved in and bought all the DLC
here's to hoping that exceeding 60fps won't break the game's intro this time
Or just having mods in general, I was getting 30fps with an enb and it broke it.
here's to hoping that exceeding 60fps won't break the game's intro this time
As much as their games have improved over time I think you're giving them too much credit
What's the point in using this version if you already have Skyrim, its DLC, and all the mods on offer to make it look just as good if not better than the remastered version already? I understand why for consoles, but it seems kind of redundant for PC
Luckily, yes, it's a new game.
So my stuff from loverslab wont break! SWEET!
What's the point in using this version if you already have Skyrim, its DLC, and all the mods on offer to make it look just as good if not better than the remastered version already? I understand why for consoles, but it seems kind of redundant for PC
As listed before, it'll be a 64 bit application so it can make use of more RAM giving it more stability, plus it's supposedly using the FO4 engine so modding animations and the like is easier.
It's not FO4 engine from what I hear, the cloth physics are missing for instance
also why would the fo4 engine make animation easier? It's already a struggle for animation with fo4...

Maybe I don't want to download a bunch of shitty broken enbs to so much as add godrays or something

I have never actually got ENBs to work. Probably because I have AMD but they always caused tons of horrible occlusion culling and shadow artifacting issues.
