I want to run L4D2 when it comes out - Hardware & Software

You are going to need a dedicated graphics card. On board won't cut it. For $120ish you can get a 4850, but you'll also need a new PSU.

Your PSU will not make your PC go faster, and the graphics card will help your FPS in games.

and the PSU is needed to power the graphics card

You should also remember to turn on multi core rendering on in left 4 dead that should help your frame rates a bit.

those specs may not reflect the exact parts he has, they may be suggested but you can customize them

Honestly i think you should invest 500 dollars and build a decent Game rig (PC).
