How Can I Send A Message To Someone In My Network?

Hey guys, since i've been playing with shutdown -i (IP) in cmd i've wanted a way to message people in my home network,
I would prefer this to be something that I don't have to download.

net send *insert network name here* *insert message here*

Then I get this

C:\Users\***>net send home test
The syntax of this command is:
bla bla bla

I'm running windows 7 by the way.

They moved mesenger service functionality into an own tool, msg.exe, in Vista. I think it's only supported in the professional versions of Windows though.

Better get a LAN messenger.
