Pretty self explanatory, When Unpluged from it's charger my laptop is considerably faster. but this thing has the worst battery life I have ever seen (you'll get about an hour and then it's dead.)
So is there anything that I can do about this?.

That's obvious, but what I was really trying to ask is what's effecting it's performance when charging and is there any way to fix it.

If you have a Nvidia card, take a look at your Powermiser settings in the Control panel.
