Notably, this claim is based on accounting for sales in China, where HTC has held most of its marketing value. It would be more interesting to have sales figures per global region.
A part of me really wonders about this tbh It seems like the Rift would be getting better sales, because its cheaper + the easier product to get into I guess? I don't know it just seems like it'd make more sense that way. [editline]10th January 2017[/editline] not only that but way more people have known about the rift way longer maybe their awful launch has fucked them over

Just my 2 cents

I cancelled, got a vive instead, got it within a week. No regrets tbh. Especially since it caters to me better.

The Facebook takeover was a massive set back, then the problems with shipping units caused a fair number of switches and worries, the closed platform and exclusivity approaches also were a big problem for them. Honestly, Oculus hasn't really had any good PR for a while. They've had lukewarm or neutral PR at best, but nothing along the lines of, "Wow, that gets me interested in their products over their competitors."

Really it's all been solid on their end
