Everything is in the title.
Game is maxed out ( every settings activated / in ULTRA ) in 1920 x 1080. Temperatures are fine, around 77c on the first GPU, and 68 on the second. Got the latest drivers ( 285.38 ) and SLI activated in the NVIDIA panel, obviously.
Here's the card itself :

Got an AX850 W PSU from Corsair to power that shit up. 80+ gold.
And for some reason i'm stuck with like... 70-80 FPS max. Nothing more, nothing less. And to be clear : it's pretty god damn infamous for such a SLI. Other players with 2X 580 get like the fucking double of that. Yeah i'm really, really mad right now.
I'm fucking frustrated and about to shoot myself, someone can please help me a bit with that ?
Thanks.
Try to check other games. If you get the same as on benchmarks in those, wait for the game to be properly released. Then check again, and if it still doesn't work right, bump this thread.
I've noticed BF3 responds pretty bad to SLI and crossfire. Try it with only one card? It worked alot better for me when I did.

The framerate is probably limited by something. It would vary a lot more in normal scenarios.
nevermind

cpu?

So i tried this.
It works well, but with the SLI activated my framerate is clearly better. So basically the SLI seems to work, but not at his full god damn potential, and i strictly don't know why.
The cards are on two PCIE X16 slots, ant the sli-bridge is connected. Dunno if i putted the bridge on the right sidehowever, if it makes a difference.
Post your full specs please.
Aaw, poor poor you maxxing BF3 at 80 fps
I would be suicidal
Post your full specs please.
Sure :
i7 2600K 3,4 ghz ( stock )
8 GO DDR3 Corsair Vengeance LP
Asus Maximus Extreme IV ( P67 )
2 X EVGA 580 SuperClocked
Corsair Force GT 120 GB
WD Caviar Black 1.0 TO
Corsair AX850
If it makes you feel better, I get that at 1080p too. But I get roughly the same numbers at 2560x1600 so Idk.
Try using MSI afterburner and checking the vram/GPU core usage while in-game.
[editline]29th September 2011[/editline]
Also only one bridge is needed if it's 2 way SLI, just try the other connections if you want.

Wait a sec, you get the same performances as me in 1080p with your two behemoths ?
edit : I don't know for the vram, but the GPU core on the two GPU's is like at 99 % all time.
Honestly, I would say it doesn't matter in the beta, if it's like this in the final game then I would start emailing Nvidia about it. for right now, unless you're on a 120hz monitor it should be an issue anyways. I'm not saying don't be bothered, but stressing about a problem that you can't really feel on a 60hz monitor for a game that isn't released isn't something I'd be concerned about.

Behemoths? I have similar cards, mine simply have double vram and are clocked to 900mhz.

Check your 3D options in the nvidia control panel, is it all stock? maybe turn down the max render ahead frames to 1. No idea if people are getting much higher framerates. I see 80-90 ish most of the time in 1080p maxed, and about 70-75 at my normal REs.
Oh. Nevermind, i was confused about the clocking on the Lightning Extreme.

Honestly, you're totally right. I'm just a bit stressed about those perfs, like a kid with his new broken toy. But if you got the same framerate as me on 1080p, with different cards n' stuff, i guess the problem is prolly on the BETA side. Or on the BETA drivers.
Check your 3D options in the nvidia control panel, is it all stock?
Well i guess it is. I pushed the " restore " button, just to be sure. But no modifications on this panel since i installed the latest drivers ( 285.38 ).
Lightnings are 832mhz default, I have mine at 900 because... no idea... I see no difference in gameplay. I just do it to say I have them at 900. Clocks don't make too big of a difference until you clock em high. Like a stock 580 is 772, so I have mine like 16% higher. I won't always see the performance 16% higher. Best case it will be 16% higher but even then that might not be noticeable.
It depends. But in any case if you got a good overclockable card ( with nice cooling, pcb and such ) you have to overclock it. Just for the sake of it. Like the Matrix from ASUS or the Lightning serie.
But the EVGA's gets hot really fast, so i let them at the stock speeds.
By the way, is there a noticeable difference between PCIE X16 and X8 if youre doing a SLI ? Or you have to put them in two X16 to max the shit out of it ?
Oh I feel bad for you man, do you want my Pentium D and GT 240 instead?
Damn I feel poor right now.
Not really, especially on Sandy Bridge boards, SLI/Xfire over 8x slots don't make a noticeable difference in games or even in benchmarks. LinusTechTips did a good video showing the difference it made in 3Dmarks. It was something like 0.034%
Oh by the way Brt, look at that :

Well... seems i'm not the only one to have 70-80 then.
Why it matter. You screen show no 70-80 fps, it show 60 fps. You no need high fps, you need stable fps.
Hotpockkets
No but to be honest, a) Stop complaining as 99% of BF3's players can't max it out at +60FPS, and b) be patient till they optimize the BETA to support features such as SLi better.
I know you may not feel fully satisfied by your purchase's given performance, but honestly, you seem quite spoiled.
I know you may not feel fully satisfied by your purchase's given performance, but honestly, you seem quite spoiled.
Spoiled ? I have a work. It pays. The money pays my hardware among other things. Hell, where's the spoil in all this.
I think there's just a little misunderstanding, i'm just not, as you say, fully satisfied at the moment. That's all. And i was thinking, cause it's my first custom PC, maybe i've done something wrong somewhere.
Easy as that.
oh no 70-80fps on ultra, whatever will you do with such hideous performance.
Seriously dude, in most games that aren't on the Source engine I get around 20. You're lucky.

dude of course it's normal to be disappointed when your hardware doesn't perform up to specifications
what if you suddenly were to get 10fps in source games now? of course you'd be disappointed as well
If he's only experiencing it in this game then it's not a problem because if he were to get a higher framerate, the monitor wouldn't support it and he would get vertical tearing

Fix link plox.
Also everyone else, shut the fuck up. It's not a matter of not having enough performance it's about getting the performance that the hardware should be providing. At this point I simply say sit tight since it's not hurting your experience and check the final build.
Then keep the crap about killing yourself out!
Hi, welcome to life. There's this neat thing called sarcasm: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SarcasmYou should check that out, since you can't tell when it's being used.OP: Not sure what to tell you, it makes no sense to me to be honest. I say just wait till it's out of beta.
I wouldn't worry about it, you're getting a higher framerate than your monitor's refresh rate
if it does it in the full release, that's when you start complaining and sending out emails
Yea, I only get 60fps with 5850 cf. Dips down to 40 fps at some points. But it's nothing to really complain about.

that's bad
I always get 50-60 FPS with a single 570, are you using the new AMD drivers?

Sorry for the delay.
By the way Brt, i found something. My two cards are exactly identical in every aspect, but one card has a different BIOS than the other ( checked with GPU-Z ). I don't know it it's bad or not tbh.
