I am going to build my mom a desktop because she has come to hate laptops (yay)! So anyway all she really does it internet and some quicken stuff, so i don't need anything really powerful, Just something niec and snappy, no games whatsoever. Thanks! I don't know a budget, but not too much. Oh, she needs the whole shebang, hard drive, keyboard, monitor everything.

Although if you want you can get a really small form factor on her build which will be nice going mini atx.
Don't worry, raccoon2112 is on the case! list in a min
AMD Dual Core 2GB RAM ATi HD RADEON 3200.
As i said, she doesnt need a big screeen or anything like that, like a 17" or something, and not too big of a hdd either, she doesnt do gfx or anything.
You'd might as well get a prebuilt for this.

This also helps with eye strain and neck pain if you avoid a tiny monitor.

I think i7 980x and then pair it with 16GB quad channel RAM and 4x CF with 5970? I would suggest you get something like the AMD athlon II x4 630 Propus. It's the cheapest quad core on the market, and I guess she would like her computer to be fast, notin games, but just in general. 2GB RAM will obviously go with the purpose, so you just choose there. Just go with a mobo with integrated graphics. I guess you could build this for abut 450$? Racoon, your going expensive there for 4GB ram... If you just bought 4GB alone you could get it for like 105$.. Get a small cube case, they can look pretty nice and discrete..

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231148&cm_re=4gb_g._skill-_-20-231-148-_-Product This is fine for her purpose, and cheaper.. Thanks racoon and godong. I'll probably be using that build. I could get a prebuilt but i want to build it myself, i find it alot of fun!
Good luck!
https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=13889352 I made this build for another person. It was made to be cheap and for general usage. All it lacks isan optical drive, it has a flash drive instead. Keyboard and monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254046 - Cheap, 20" with a low resolution so she don't have to strain her eyes to read things. Keyboard and mouse, I'd say go get it at a local shop, so she can try it out.
also those cube cases are a bitch to work with
All you've got to do is screw the shit in once and there you go, it's not like his mother is going to mess around inside the case on a regular basis.
If she really only wants to do quicken stuff and browse shit, build her an Atom based box, it'll be tiny, completely silent, and snappy enough for her requirements. Then just source a cheap monitor from somewhere. This will be by far the cheapest option and the silent + very low power requirements will be appreciated in the long term.
Your wishlist ain't public.
Just replace MyWishList with PublicList :colbert: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=13889352
Cheap and effective build, get a compucase 8k01: http://www.compucase-hec.co.uk/img/mini_itx/large/8k01.jpg Seeing as it comes with a built in psu, you just buy a gigabyte GA-D510UD, shove in 4gigs of ram and toss in a harddrive, presto.
