This really sucks. I'm hoping Survarium (or whatever) will be a proper follow-up, but I highly doubt it. No way it's gonna have the same epic atmosphere SHOC/CS/COP had.

I'm guessing you tried getting into the community and got butthurt for whatever reason. The Stalker community is one of the strongest I've seen, especially on an international scale.
