I love the artstyle of the helmets this time around, big panoramic glass visors are my favorite style in sci-fi.

I used this helmet for a majority of Mass Effect 3:

little too heavy on the greeble but it's nice to see the N7 armor with more than two textures on it for once
Really disliking overly designed armors. I wish they kept it simple as it was in original games.
You could say something like "they are designed like that because it's a different galaxy so fuck knows what is in there" but in same time it does look quite different from all three games at same time..

Well it does take place a very long time after the first three.

Supposedly, which I assume is because it takes a LONG time to travel
Would be nice if they added a harness of some sort with pouches so that our characters aren't pulling objects from thin air.

Then people would just complain more about over-designed armors

Everyone knows in the future, practicality is strictly VERBOTEN.
seriously though, as much as I love Mass Effect, I always despised the armor, guns, and basically anything military with an absolute burning passion. I wouldn't have minded the latex onesies so much if they weren't the norm. There's a line between stylistic minimalism and utterly useless wanky looking Sea-World park attendant swimsuits
At least the helmets look pretty swank this time round

Each ME is a different sci fi era. Me 1 - silver age sci fi. Me2 - 90s and Me3 - modern. It's really visible on the armour progression.

it would about roughly 2.5 million years to get to our next door neighbor at speed at light so I am guessing this will take 1k years after 3?
I like the look of it, especially that there fewer bulky ceramic plates like 2 and 3's armor, even if it's still a little greeble-y
I understand they don't mesh with the art in the later games, but I actually kinda miss the glorified wetsuits from ME1.

Mass Effect is one of the few series where objects aren't pulled from thin air, though. All your weapons are visible on yourself (and on your teammates) at all times.

The armour even has areas on it specifically to show where the weapons attach.

On the opposite, I like it because it looks functional and doesn't have the "exposed engine block" effect that a lot of overly designed armors have in these games.
