Remember when they said WarZ was in development before DayZ even existed? I am 99% sure they lied about that too.
Change names as much as you want. We still know what you've done.
I need to be slapped for buying this game. Slapped silly I say...
Too bad there are no survivors and no stories to tell. They were banned after all.
"Dear diary Today I killed a whooping 0 zombies and 145 fellow survivors"
Whoever came up with that name ought to be fired. There aren't really many stories to tell, aside from "I shot stuff today and died, but revived myself and then got shot in the head."
Installer still installs to a "War Z" folder...
Sounds like classic rebranding to me.
"Dear diary Today I killed a whooping 0 zombies and 145 fellow survivors"
That's pretty much the ideal DayZ story as well, is it not?
maybe if they hide every trace of the "the war z" then people will buy it
"Dear diary Today I killed a whooping 0 zombies and 145 fellow survivors"
this isn't the rust thread
Remember when they said WarZ was in development before DayZ even existed? I am 99% sure they lied about that too.
They did lie, despite the fact that he says the game was made for PS3 in 2010 but they just need to port the stuff over, WarZ is literally a carbon copy of War Inc but with a new map and some bad zombie AI thrown in. This game is a total shambles. The people involved are the most unprofessional game devs/designers/producers I have ever seen and the whole thing is basically one giant scam. I just feel like an idiot that I actually believed Sergey's bullshit early on and thought it actually had potential.
That's pretty much the ideal DayZ story as well, is it not?
Not particularly. Yes there are a lot of bandits in DayZ, but there are also a lot of people that wont kill on sight (Unless you are in area with good loot, because obviously theres competition there) WarZ is basically a huge empty world with 2-3 towns that everyone goes to and shoots each other. They could literally reduce the game area to that tiny area and the gameplay would be no different except for less running for 20 minutes though nothingness. I know DayZ was also massively empty but it was at least semi interesting to look around. I went back to WarZ the other day and figured I'd see how long it would take before I got shot out of nowhere. I spawned next to a town literally walked for 30 seconds then instantly died, not even seeing who shot me, its just a total PVP/cheater fest.
If they renamed their game then they gotta rename it on steam.
They're just trying to distance themselves from their terrible reputation.
Why won't this game die already? Hey, maybe the day it dies, DayZ Standalone will be released! :v:
While we were reluctant to rename the game so long after launch, especially with nearly 1 million registered players
Is this really the amount of players registered?
Sounds like classic rebranding to me.
It's pretty clearly a rebranding, but I think it had more to do with the legal trouble they had with that World War Z movie. Hammerpoint has already made it pretty obvious they don't care about public opinion.
I love this game! [SP]For being so fucking pathetic[/SP]
WarZ - or how NOT to develop a game
The title does not even fit the game, there are not that many interesting stories because the game is so bare bones. It' just pvp, at times you have some organized ambushes but nothing more.
Same shit new name
Same shit new name
Thank you for pointing out the obvious.
WarZ - or how NOT to develop a game
They are making profits off of a shitty product so being scumbags does kind of work.
Now I won't get The War Z and Day Z confused anymore
This is the same reasoning that Blackwater used when they renamed themselves to Academi, after that whole civilian massacre deal in Baghdad
