• Writing a wishlist..

So I'm writing a wishlist, it's for both my b-day and christmas (Yes I know it's early, but I want these things done before so I don't go nuts the week before christmas) And I'm trying to figure out what to get. I really don't want to get a new computer (Since I have spent hours and hours trying to make this one work), but I was to upgrade it alot. So here comes my questions. I'm using a SCALEO-H (Fujitsu) with mostly standard pieces, it's a new soundcard, wireless network adapter, graphics card, CD drive that I am aware of) I heard that I might need to get quite many new things if I wanted to get an i5, so I just wonder what the things I need is, and wich one to get. I'm using a GeForce GT8500, and it's possibly time to upgrade that too? If I upgrade my RAM from 3GB to 6GB, will I need to upgrade other things in the computer, and, most of all, will I need to reinstall my whole windows if I want to get 64bit out of it? I'm going to wish for another harddrive, possibly 1TB. What things would I need for that, and as I asked before, will I need to upgrade my computer with more parts for that? Thank you for your time.

How much do you think you'll be able to ask for? Everything's really quite lacking, but there's a few upgrade paths you could take depending on your budget.
For the christmas I think I'll be able to ask for one of the cheapest parts of the whole upgrade, and on my birthday I guess the expensive ones too. Not sure about the budget. Maybe 784,93 dollars or something (Not sure about currency at the moment)
that's a bit of a specific number :v: you might as well get a whole new build with that kind of money
That amount is 4k in Swedish currency. That would be enough to buy a poor computer
The thing I need mostly is a new processor. Since systemrequirementslab indicates only my processor is too slow for running all the games I try (Black Ops, Bad Company 2) Would I need to upgrade my power supply if I get a new processor, and in that case, how do I do it, and what processor should I get? Then I can wish some things on the side that isn't that important. Anything else I should add to this list? 1TB harddrive+holder and SATA cables (Should I get a second disc reader?)
Just popping a bump out there
That amount is 4k in Swedish currency. That would be enough to buy a poor computer
$800 is enough for a pretty good build.
$800 is enough for a pretty good build.
I basicly don't want to leave this computer. It's a memory thing, and I want to learn much about computers by working on this. That is why I want to do this. Also I like the chassi :3

All the parts are pretty sucky, and to get new ones, you'd probably need a new compatible MOBO to go with a better CPU, and a better PSU to go with a new GPU and the list goes on. I had to do this with my computer aswell, it was a pile of crap and there was no other way to upgrade it other than just get an entirely new one.
It feels so shitty to get a new when I got this like 2 months ago (Even though it was a take it or leave it cause, and I didn't have a computer. I was really desperate.) I'm not sure if they want to buy a new computer, but I'll ask my father about it. I know someone who needs one :P
