beware as it seems the port is awful. wait until fixes or at least a fanmade patch
Time to repost this for the HUNDREDTH time today!
Runs locked 60FPS. Resolution is set to whatever window size is. 1. TURN VSYNC AND SSAO OFF 2. Have a controller plugged in. It would seem this has the issue FF13 had where it constantly makes CPU calls to see if a controller is plugged in if one is not detected. I'd expect a fix soon-ish though. 3. Turn down all other settings if you are not already at 60FPS 4. TURN VSYNC AND SSAO OFF Now, if you have tearing at this point put the game into Windowed mode. That will fix your tearing issues. Either drag the window size to whatever you want (The resolution will change to match.) or hit the Maximize button and bite the bullet on having bordered fullscreen. Alternatively use Borderless Windowed Gaming or some other borderless fullscreen app, but this has given me cursor-alignment issues so far and potential overscan.

Time to repost this for the HUNDREDTH time today!
doesn't change that a port sucks if you have to jump through that many hoops to play it what if i want to play 720p windowed and i have screen tearing? having anime games on pc is nice and all but they really need to step up with their ports.

it's fucking sad how you can't expect a game to even function properly on day one anymore.
what if i want to play 720p windowed and i have screen tearing?
Disabling the in-game vsync and then forcing adaptive vsync through your GPU's control panel should do the trick.
Disabling the in-game vsync and then forcing adaptive vsync through your GPU's control panel should do the trick.
i guess but i think the point to take away is that you need to take roundabout measures rather than offering basic functionality. I mean Akiba's Trip actually does technically support 60fps even while the game is locked to 30fps but you need to use a hex editor to unlock it
The low fidelity visuals are rather deceiving for those looking for low-spec games. Having tested it on a 5 year old laptop, I can safely say that you have much better options if you don't have proper gaming specs. It also doesn't help that prior to Disgaea PC's announcement, the devs have scared the Steam community into defending bad ports from Japan.
So, get this everyone. The performance issues are the result of a Steam beta.
Honestly, it's a port based of a near 10 year old port.
