It's not just RPS you know; other sites, famous youtubers, steam forums, facepunchers, everyone does it. Sometimes seems like the entire gaming community need a reality check.

The first fucking line and he's already shown he has no idea what a beta is.
One of the most important rules when developing is to never pre-optimize. And it's also especially important when making games. As sometimes the optimization means you have to write hacky code. Something you do not want while still making changes etc.
Plus, you can't know where the biggest bottlenecks and performance losses are until you have everything completed.
