That's pretty cool but why just now?
Cool. Also, I like how the trophies aren't your regular "kill 50 guys", "kill 100 guys" and so forth.
if you've already done something before the patch do you get the trophy straight away without having to do it again? I've got the boss extreme emblem, or big boss emblem or whatever its called and I don't want to do it again.
While at first glance, it may look easy to get the Platinum, do note that in order to get all the weapons (and therefore, the Platinum), you'll need to play through the game with no alerts, no kills, and no continues on The Boss Extreme mode in under five hours--all while not using any healing items or stealth camo or bandanas. Essentially, you are not going to get this Platinum.
I did that on Big Boss Hard, pretty sure I can muster a run on The Boss Extreme.
"Killed many enemies in one area and vomited" That literally seems like the most cryptic shit to get, and even when you get it without knowing the criteria - there's no rational sequence of events that could possibly spark that achievement in my mind. Like... you'd vomit and get an achievement. But you don't really know why, because chances are you've vomited before and not gotten it, so why this time?

It's more or less cryptic I suppose depending on how you view it.
What was the context of that anyways? When in Metal Gear Solid 1 did Liquid even say that line? "You enjoy all the killing; that's why!" [editline]4th August 2012[/editline] (I'm talking about the kill many enemies and vomit thing. You hear Liquid Snake say that in your mind when it happens)
During the first game after the fight with REX
Wait, I forget, does the ingame trophy list show conditions for tropies, or just the names?
Usually. However sometimes the requirements are hidden.

The trophy is pretty self explanitory.
and now it's time to pick this game up, been putting it off for now reason. Now seems like a perfect time
Trophy list seems small, but doable. At least there isn't a trophy requiring ultra hardcore extreme difficulty. Or any online trophies AFAIK seeing as comments give the impression that online is dead/shut down.

Seriously. I would understand on hard mode, but no alerts, NO KILLS, NO CONTINUES, and under five hours? Why? Unless I am step-by-step using a guide that seems impossible to one that hasn't played a MGS game before. [editline]5th August 2012[/editline] Lets hope they change that or this will be like the rarest platinum ever (that is able to acheive at this point. Tom Clancy's Endwar platinum is legitimatly impossible due to discontinued theatre of war support.)
(Silver) You’re pretty good. Got kissed by Ocelot during the final battle.
wut

You can use your tranquilliser guns to get no kills, and you can simply reload your last save from the main menu to not use a continue.

I am very cautious while playing so it would take me even longer to beat it with no alerts, kills, deaths, or special items on that difficulty. Everything else seems doable for me except for those 5 hours. Also bosses are extremely annoying with just a tranq gun.
Do you still get the achievements if you already did a lot of that stuff?
Do you still get the achievements if you already did a lot of that stuff?
For stuff like finish on ultra hard and get all weapons might unlock when you load your save, but things like kill many enemies in one area and vomit or get kissed by ocelot in final battle probably won't seeing as those are objective trophies (things that would trigger when you do them and not saved to your statistics). But seeing as I don't know exactly what MGS4 statistics track and what they don't I cannot be 100% sure.
finally a reason to replay the game on The Boss Extreme the game got too ez after the first 2 TBE playthroughs, now i have a goal
Cool. Also, I like how the trophies aren't your regular "kill 50 guys", "kill 100 guys" and so forth.
Yeah, but I don't like how those are the ONLY ones. Doesn't seem like something Kojima would do. I mean hell, the MGS HD collection had a decent number of trophies for each game. Though I must admit, the permanent installation option a is VERY nice touch.
Perfect timing, right as I'm nearing the end of my first playthrough of MGS3 via the HD collection. Time to play one of the games I bought my PS3 for!
That's pretty cool but why just now?
Because they're retarded. No real other explanation for it honestly, there was really absolutely no reason to hide half the shit they did.
Do you still get the achievements if you already did a lot of that stuff?
Nope. Trophies are not retroactive to stop people being able to boost their trophy counts by downloading save data.

I mowed people down for about 5 minutes and got some kind of flashback and vomited as a result.
Fuck, of course I lost my MGS4. [editline]6th August 2012[/editline] then I find it, and fuck, they got rid of MGSO
Yeah if Ocelot gets a hold of you during the last fight and you don't do anything, he'll give you the 'kiss of death' and choke the shit out of you (kill you). It's Japan, don't be surprised.
I didn't know about this so I tried to find a clip of it online Then I realized I was looking up two old men kissing each other in a video game what am i doing with my life
I didn't know about this so I tried to find a clip of it online Then I realized I was looking up two old men kissing each other in a video game what am i doing with my life
I found it in one video covering the final boss fight (which is the best final boss fight I've seen in ANY game.) Its as disturbing as it sounds. lol
Forcing myself to get enough continues (51) in order to get the corpse camo again is gonna be a drag. Only reason I got it to begin with was because of various reasons: MGS4 was my first MGS, I started on Big Boss Hard, and I didn't know that the goal was not to use continues. I was so use to not having anything wrong with using a continue in a game, I didn't think anything of it. My first playthrough took over 30hrs. Second one I cut it in half, and so on. That was back in 2008 when the game first came out. Since then, I went through the game I believe 6 times. Was working on finally doing a Big Boss Extreme playthrough, but of course, that is irrelevant now as in the past year I got a YLOD and didn't have a back up of my data so I effectively lost all my game data. It'll still be nice to replay it again multiple times all over again though, since there are plenty of reasons. Already got two trophies in the past 90mins; the combat high one where you vomit from mass killing, and a secret one [sp]that everyone should remember, since it was in the freakin E3 demo, where you rip off the dong on the statue in the area right before you meet up with MK.II[/sp].
