I've had this problem before, a long time ago; It stopped for a while, but now it's starting again.
My mouse clicks again shortly after I click once about 30% of the time I click, constantly screwing me in many ways. I'm beginning to think it's a short somewhere inside, but I opened it up, cleaned out all the crumbs and shit, left it open for a while to let any moisture evaporate, but it's still happening.
You probably saw the tiny button on the PCB in the mouse the plastic mouse bezel clicks on. Those things eventually wear out from use and will start doing that. I've had lots of mice wear out like that.
The only way to fix the problem would be to desolder that button and put a new one on, but most people aren't proficient in SMD soldering. Other than that, I'd recommend just buying a new mouse.
Ah, guess I'm getting a new mouse.
