I've been wanting to move my computer from the computer room into my room which is on the east side of the house, however the wireless signal in my room is currently on "very poor" because the modem is in the computer room. Now heres the question, would i be able to connect some sort of router into the phone line in my room, So theres some sort of modem/router in my room so i can get max signal? Sorry if I worded the question badly. My english is quite terrible.
It very much depends on what type of phone line you have. If its a regular phone line and you get charged with that then you should be able to just move the router to your room. However if the phone line in the computer room is a broadband line for your ISP then the line in your room needs to be one as well. (Apologies if this is rubbish, I'm not sure how to average phone line set up is different in the US) You could also get a more powerful router, or get a repeater stationed outside your room. Follow the link below to a page which has more info about boosting wireless range: http://compnetworking.about.com/od/wirelessfaqs/f/extendwifirange.htm

So moving the actual modem is not really an option. I'm on ADSL+2 if that helps. (Btw, I'm in Australia. Fp fucking up as usual)
Best option is to get a more powerful wireless router as at 15m you should be getting at least a good quality signal with a modern wireless router, unless its your walls, I'm not sure, you could also switch to a powerline ethernet connection, I have heard alot about these, but I am unaware of how reliable they actually are, but a direct ethernet connection from your router to your pc will be fine also, if you want a massive cable trailing the length of your house, or just get a wireless repeater to extend the connection radius throughout your house. There are a few options, but I'm not exactly sure what you mean by connecting a router into a phone line, since you already have an internet connection, router and modem already.
I would order an ethernet cable and thread it through the wall from your pc to your router. I can't stand wireless it's so terrible.
How much speed will I lose if I use a wireless repeater compared to Ethernet?
You won't lose much speed. Only stability; playing online games doesn't play nice with wireless.
Hmm, I always preferred stability over speed. How about one of those electric Ethernet? Anyone ever used one before?

Right, I think I am going with Powerline networking. Seems to be the simplest and the easiest. Thanks everyone!
You won't lose much speed. Only stability; playing online games doesn't play nice with wireless.
I have no problems with my wireless router playing online games, well normally anyway. Theres only 2 problems with my setup. 1, My ISP keeps screwing up and 2, the wall the my room is brick and must contain metal as it practically turns my room into a faraday cage. And yeah, a more powerful router with a better antenna, or a repeater should do the trick. Or as suggested you could also drill a hole in the wall and stick an ethernet cable through it, though this could potentially be disastrous if you don't know what your doing (DIY tip, check for water pipes). Good luck!
