Today, I have managed to accidentally my Windows Vista. I downloaded a trainer for NFS: Shift, and it gave my computer aids. When I run Windows normally, I cannot do anything, if I do, Windows Explorer stops responding, and when I end the process, it doesn't come back up. So I went into safe mode (where I am currently), and ran avast anti-virus, and spend four hours scanning my whole entire computer, and it found like 10 things to remove. I removed those ten things, and tried to run Windows normally once more, and it didn't work. This virus was still infecting my computer.
Specs:
Windows Vista Ultimate
6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 60001
System Model: P5Q
System Type: X86 Based PC
Using avast! home anti-virus
Please help me, Facepunch!
Have you run avast at boot? (Before windows starts up)
You gotta boot into safe mode and run spybot S&D
When on the subject of trainers, Cheat Happens are never infected, just wait a week for the paid ones to become free. Gamecopyworld has good trainers, and they don't have viruses, just an occasional false positive. And the virus might not be in your computer anymore, maybe it was in a windows file, and Avast deleted it. If you have any spare CD's and another computer with a burner, use this:

Would it be easier to use System Restore though? :3
Its just that I don't want to lose my NFS: Shift game if I go back..
Also where is system restore found lol
System restore might not work as system restore only recovers certain things. If the virus parked itself somewhere that isnt affected, you still have it.
Nothing is working..
You accidentally your what? :argh:

u shud defrag ur hard drive evry day to prevent virsues :buddy:
