I'm getting the Storm Scout my new case. If it's too much don't bother complaining because I'm not changing my mind on that. Now all I need is a CPU, GPU, motherboard and RAM. No HDD or OS because I'll get them at a later time. For at the most £550-£600 Please use www.ebuyer.com Thanks.
What do you intend on using it for?
http://www.software4students.co.uk/Microsoft_Windows_7_Professional_64_bit_Upgrade_Edition-details.aspx [editline]10:09PM[/editline] Probably gaming and all round good preformance. Since I'm running on a prebuilt with an 8500 GT.
I chose the Antec 300 as it saved abit of money to get in a 500GB HDD.
Seems good, but I'd rather have the 932. I'll wait for more replies but i'll keep this in mind and I might change somethings around. I could replace the optical drive, hard drive and case for the HAF and save up some more for the OS and hdd at the same time. [editline]10:56PM[/editline] Thanks for the build, I done some thinking and now I'm considering this. then with left over money I'm going to get a 1TB 7200rpm hardrive with Win7 Pro after some saving up, I'll just have to use some of my current parts.
Seems good, but I'd rather have the 932.
no, for a budget of £600 get a cheaper case, get a smaller HDD 500gb is enough. if you building from new, you cant get this http://www.software4students.co.uk/Microsoft_Windows_7_Professional_64_bit_Upgrade_Edition-details.aspx edit: them new i5's are shit, for the same money you can get this http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/Components/Processors/AMDPhenomX4/AMD/HDZ965FBGMBOX.html
edit, edit: try avoiding pre-overclocked GPUs because the cost more for something you can do in less than 1 minute
Thats the cheapest 5770
Thats the cheapest 5770
thats what you get for not looking at the website i suppose, snipping it
Get any one of these over the 5770: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-204-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=939 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-124-XF&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1403 http://www.kikatek.com/product_info.php?products_id=119737&source=froogle You shouldn't blow so much on the case for a build like this. Get the 300 and put that extra £60 into the graphics card, preferably the 5850 (which is a lot faster than the 5770 or 4870).
I don't understand why people have such a fetish for the 5770. Directx 11 isn't even worth it and it actually seems to do worse than other cards at around the same price.

At least in benchmarks they are the same.
5770 is about the same as a 4870 for the same price. At least in benchmarks they are the same.
No. 5770 is (depending on the game) between 0-10 FPS slower and costs £20-30 more. For the same price as the 5770 you have the 4890, which at £130 is the same price but notably faster. Why even consider the 5770. Look at this, a Vapor-X 1GB 4870 for £100: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-204-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=939 And a few posts up there is a PowerColor 5770 for £131. I don't get it. ATi undercut their own cards with the pricing of the 5770. I think the 5770 should be around the £90 mark to be worth buying.
Okay, how about this. A CPU, motherboard and ram for about £350? Has to be able to run on a 500w PSU aswell. No HDD, PSU, case, RAM, GPU. Just those three things, and tell me if I'm missing a part in the lists that I need.

Fear 2 is just one game. I'm talking about games in general. But if you want to use your point, I'll use it against you by saying you're paying £30 for .2 FPS and DX 11 :downs:
Fear 2? :downs: I'm talking about new games.
But the fact is it can still play some games with exact frame rates of a 4870, and if your dying for dx11 and/or eyefinity then a 5770 is your choice. Otherwise go for a 4870 if you want, their the same price range, check newegg if you want. edit: Look at that, you changed your post :effort:
I changed my post because I realised that I had Fear 2 confused with something else. Big deal. We're talking £; U.S prices do not apply here.
I'm getting a 4890 anyway now because it is better preformance for money. I was going for 5770 for the hdmi mostly but anyway back on-topic.
Eyefinity is nice, but DX11 isn't desirable yet.
Eyefinity is not worth it either: loss of performance, most games stutter or have problems with the resolution, and drivers aren't perfect for 5 series cards yet.
Storm Scout case looks a lot better than I thought, that's my new case. If it's too much don't bother complaining because I'm not changing my mind on that. Now all I need is a CPU, GPU, motherboard and RAM with www.ebuyer.co.uk. No HDD or OS because I'll get them at a later time. For at the most £550-£600
How's this? Would it run on a 500w PSU? This is the first time I've tried putting components together since I know nothing of mother boards and very little on CPU's. I know some important parts aren't there but that's because I've got plans for them, like the HDD, OS and PSU which I already own. Oh and don't worry about the 5770. That's just there for the price total, it'll be a 4890 when they are back in stock.
Looks good, but get the 955 instead of the 965 and save yourself some money.
I'm guessing it's because it has a very small increase that's not worth the money? Either way I'm tons under the budget than before.
I'm guessing it's because it has a very small increase that's not worth the money? Either way I'm tons under the budget than before.
The 965 is exactly like the 955 except it has a higher multiplier and core clock. It's for people who like to do lots of overclocking, but that doesn't mean the 955 won't overclock good.
I won't be thinking about or considering overclocking things anytime soon. I probably will change it, then it would make up for the harddrive and win7 Pro for exactly £600 altogether. Thanks for the help guys.
