Hey. just want to know your opinion. Basically I end school in 2 years. And going to collage which is about techology. I have a choice: 1) Go to Computer making, I mean like video cards, mboards. Computer engineering. 2) Go to game development. 3) Go to programming. I kinda want them all but that would take me 6 years in collage instead of 4. What would you do?
game dev./programming
Ask your parents to help you out and do them all. You'll have a better understanding of all of them. Also, collage.
Which do you like more? Working with physical computer parts or programming?
Both :D
So do 1 and 3.
Also, collage.
how is that related? @ op: I'd do 2 and 3.
Why do you ask him what he likes more, it's about you, what are you more interested in?
2 and 3.
Unless you intend to go independent or find a small studio to work with, you will likely find modern game development to be rather unrewarding. Long hours, tight deadlines, immense pressure and ultimately little credit appear to be the norm for most major studios. On the other hand, computer engineering and software are both booming fields with plenty of exciting career paths open to you. Lots of great fun and innovation to be had and reasonable job security.

Programming is boring under a working environment. Look at other careers too that may be computer related. I learned more recently about ATC which has about 2 years of training and you can make up to around 200k-160k a year which is great.

He was pointing out a typo in the OP by posting a pic of a prick :)
He was pointing out a typo in the OP by posting a pic of a prick :)
You have to admit it's pretty well made though (despite the strange subject matter).
How about not asking an internet forum to decide the rest of your life?
You have to admit it's pretty well made though (despite the strange subject matter).
Steve Jobs and Apple products?
2) Go to game development.
2) Go to game development.
I can play gamezzzz so iur giong to devlup geamazzz Prepare to see those types a lot there. Also
How about not asking an internet forum to decide the rest of your life?

He was pointing out a typo in the OP by posting a pic of a prick :)
someone who likes osx but hates steve? that's refreshing. I'm really sick of the: " steve is like a god, he shits light, he made osx all by himself,he is responsible for every innovation his company produces, the engineers that actually do his work don't mean shit, steve gave us osx, steve gave us the dock, steve this, steve that, if steve took a shit in a white box I would buy it" type people. which makes up about %90 of people who use apple products in my experience.
Do 1 and 3. 2 Sorta comes with 3 if you work on your own initative at all.
For the love of god do programming. Don't do game dev.
1 sounds fun
I have a few good ideas for games, well at least 8 people said it's good idea, But I have no idea how to make games :D I could make it in source engine but it's not cool.
