Whenever I download a file over firefox, as it finishes it it automatically scans the file for viruses (maybe windows is doing it, I'm not quite certain) and it literally takes a good 30 seconds, there is nothing else wrong with my computer and I'm unable to use the file while it's scanning, I just want to simply turn this off and not have to be annoyed at every file, big or small taking 30 seconds to be usable.
I have Avast installed, but I'm not sure it's Avast scanning it, I've taken a screenshot to show what I mean, using Firefox 4.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Found a fix myself, type "about:config" into the address bar and find this line;

Right click and click "Toggle" and the value should turn to "False" instead of "True". Restart firefox and you're good to go.
Still a pain in the ass, but I'm sure this will help someone who's having the same problem.
