It seems more themed toward a fallout game rather than dead space, to be honest.
The only thing that would indicate dead space would be that miniature marker, and even then it doesn't spring to mind that much.
why does it come with a dragon dildo
Why did they think it was a good idea to put "He's carrying his load, are you?" next to it?
why does it come with a dragon dildo
So you can find out what it's like to fuck your Marker.
For what you get $100 extra is actually not bad. Art of books alone usually cost a bomb.
So you can find out what it's like to fuck your Marker.
Now that's certainly a way of taking a game ending too literally.

Not really, all the advertisements in DS1 had that style to them.
Its a good special edition. I won't get it, not enough cash, but still, its nice.
I kinda' really really want this, but I don't even have the money for just the game. ;_;
Edit:
S-Stop it with all this talk of dragon dildos
They're making me all hot n stuff~
Why is called the "Dev Team Edition"? At first I thought it included the source code or at least some of their tools to create mods. What the hell does that have to do with development??

It's a shame if the rest of the game turns out the be like this.
I would buy if dead space 3 actually looked good.
But it pretty much ruins everything dead space was by making it into a generic, cover-based, behind the shoulder shootyshoot.

i dont understand, all that shit shown in that video except human enemies was in the first 2, as well and if i remember correctly universal ammo is gone now.
also using tribes ascend sounds to mock a bad game, lol

moron..
Well even if the universal ammo could have been scrapped, they've still removed many qualities of a survival horror. Especially with showing you how much reloads you have.
A strong element in survival horror is your resources, ammunition and such. In dead space 1 and 2, if you wanted to see your ammo in total, you'd need to open your inventory and make yourself vulnerable as you look through it.
It is a very small thing, but it takes away a lot from the feel that dead space originally had.

Being able to see how much reloads you have is not something on which survival horror depends. It's just a question of convenience.
If survival horror means inconvenient interfaces and shitty controls, you can just play Resident Evil 2 with tank controls and reloading through the inventory.
Not saying RE2 is a bad game (far from it), but this is clearly the kind of game you are looking for.
Do I need to post this again?

Still looks like Dead Space 2 style Dead Space to me.
[del]Save for universal ammo[/del] WHAT DO YOU KNOW, ITS NOT IN THE GAME, which is my only REAL gripe with the game. And the red balls of death during the EVA part looked silly, but that's not enough to be pissy about.
I think a lot of what's making people freak out is the co-op, which we've seen is handled well, (not having a dumb ass AI partner in single player, with altered cutscenes and narrative for when he's around to make it fit in lore-wise) and human enemies, which feel dead space-y as a human enemy can get, and which aren't going to replace the necromorphs any time soon. But "OH NOE THERE'S A COVER SYSTEM D:", its no more a cover system than Far Cry 3's, if you go into sights while near a wall / object, you duck down a bit, no gluing yourself to chest high walls. Hell I saw people bitching about how the bosses that have been shown off in DS3 are "glowing weakpoint bosses" as if Dead Space 1 and 2 weren't chock full of those... And "BUT THERE'S MILITARY GUNS IN THE GAME. ITS REMOVING THE COOL IMPROVISED WEAPONS FROM DEAD SPACE 1 and 2!!!!!!"... Oh wait...
Just give the game a fucking chance people, its no were near as dire as you're all making it out to be for fucks sake. It has the action moments of Dead Space 2, and the tense lonesome moments of Dead Space 1, and if you want to for a second play through or some shit, grab your best friend for a game of co-op. I fail to see what's so wrong with that.
You people are prepared to cry franchise murder at the slightest goddamn thing.
You are right, but it is just the littlest thing.
Other than that, many things take away from the survival horror feel that dead space once had.
The other soldiers that are allies or enemies really remove the isolation feel. It takes away that atmosphere where you are just one guy on a planet/space station that is 99.9% populated with alien zombies that want to murder you. With soldiers, dead space is pretty much just F.E.A.R.
Now this dead space probably would look a lot better if it wasn't being called dead space 3. If it were a spinoff or something, not starring isaac.
Trying to relate dead space 3 to dead space is like relating RE6 to RE4.

yeah it would be a shame if the rest of the game turned out to have features from the last 2 games
really dude such a shame
should be a capcom fighting game imo

would you prefer it if they didn't add anything new at all.
oh no human enemies this ruins everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cover based shooting comes from the fact that some enemies have guns now, imagine how fucking horrible it would be to play dead space with rapid fire enemies when you have no cover system.

You shouldn't be hindered by gameplay design to make you 'scared and vulnerable', to me that just makes me frustrated to know that I died because my character doesnt have the mental capacity to move AND select something off of what is essentially (I think) a massive fucking touchscreen infront of him.
If you want the survival horror experience, PLAY ON THE HARDEST DIFFICULTY, you can apply this to nearly every horror game that was '2 easy omg', if you want it to be hard then play on the hardest difficulty your first playthrough(if not possible, second hardest or whatever).

I would prefer if they added nothing new. There was nothing wrong with the last game. They didn't need to try and improve on it.
They could've just added more kinds of necromorphs. Like they did when moving to dead space 2.

Survival horror isn't about difficulty, it's about immersion. A good survival horror has you on your toes, thinking about what's ahead of you. Makes you think things like "Will I be in danger?" "Do I have the means to survive any more?" Makes you come to every corner wondering what's going to be around it and how you will react to it.
Dead Space 3 looks predictable as fuck.
It's really not survival horror, but any claim that the atmosphere is going to remain intact between all the set pieces and level/narrative design (Isaac has to be in contact with and near by Carver at all times, if not the rest of the gang) is laughable.

As is the idea that dressing up generic enemies with assault rifles and grenades in RIG suits, or lodging a working pulse rifle in a walking corpse when there are still so many wild possibilities for necromorph enemies is going to meaningfully change things up.
You could at least argue that the story has been pulling towards a direct confrontation with the EarthGov-Unitology conspiracy, but the Tau Volantis demo hasn't convinced me it's doing so in a particularly inspired way.
Oh fuck me. The Dev Team set is $160, then an extra $100 to ship to Australia.
I think the question we really we want the answer to is if they've made so as that you can flip the plasma cutter again.
Also is there a source on scrubbing universal ammo ?
But EA also offers a $100 set sans game, just in case you've already pre-ordered it elsewhere or plan on buying the game digitally.
everyone should do this
