Holy shit! I just rewatched Master and Commander last night and as I logged in today I found this game on my steam frontpage.
It's the first game in I don't know how long I've been genuinely excited to try. Looks great!
Should have went the World of Warships model with it. $40 is a steep cost of entry for what is really a niche game. I wan to play it, and I'd like to play it with a lot of people, but not for $40

World of Warships is done by a company with other earning games that also shills out packages for individual ships worth more than $40 each, so personally, it's better than they're giving you everything for a set price.
Is it worth the buy, anyone?
I did buy it and play it for a while but found that the interface is horrible and there's no real introduction to the game and it lacks pointers of what to do. The graphics, ship physics and the combat is really good but right now it's barely worth half the pricetag.
I refunded it but I'm going to keep an eye on it and see if they turn into into something bigger. I would like to see missions, real player progression and a proper interface that isn't a mess before I'll think about buying it again.

This is essentially a niche sim, so no that would not work at all.
Edit: wait, now that I think about it Iforgot about Rise of Flight. F2P with two planes, and you buy the rest. Still, imo that's not really preferable.
It's had about a year or so in early alpha with testing, the UI hasn't been at the forefront of what they've been doing anyway.
Been meaning to buy it for a while, definitely will when I have the extra cash.
