Hey,
So I bought a laptop and it has a sticker on the front saying that it has a NVIDIA GeForce 310M 512MB VRAM card, but in Dxdiag it says I have a Intel(R) HD Graphics (Core i5) card. Manufacturer is Intel and all, no mention of NVIDIA. How can I fix this??? I am trying to get that DLL fix for Fallout New Vegas and it is not working, I think it is something to do with the graphics card not being set or something.
Thanks for any help.
Update your drivers, otherwise it sounds like there isn't one and you got ripped off.
Also, tech support section is in Hardware and Software.
By what you're describing, it seems like your laptop has both and integrated and dedicated graphic card. A few new laptops now a day has this feature.
What happens is when you're doing non-intensive work, you're laptop defaults to the on-board, saving more power, when you actually need the graphics power, you swap to the Nvidia.
Some laptops (Alienware) have a button to actually manually swap between these two settings.
In terms of your problem with Fallout NV, beats me :P
Henry.
